COVID-19
For the safety and wellness of clients, staff, and community members, Crestone Wellness designed policies and procedures in accordance with The Joint Commission requirements and CDC guidelines on COVID-19 infection prevention and control.
In addition, Crestone Wellness coordinates with Williamson County to ensure facility policies and procedures meet the latest local authority recommendations.
Protocols
Crestone Wellness Infection Control Protocols
- Director of Nursing, Sherrie Scott, RN, designated as Crestone Wellness Infection Control Officer oversees and monitors the effectiveness of infection control policies and procedures, including screening, testing, and prevention measures
- Employees are educated on the COVID-19 vaccines through the COVID-19/Influenza vaccine program
- Strict protocols have been implemented for the screening of symptoms of employees and clients, which to date, have been proven to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the facility
- Incoming clients are verbally screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to scheduled intake
- Clients receive a Rapid Antigen Test for SARS-CoV-2 immediately upon arrival for intake and must test negative to be approved for admission;
- Intake staff wear appropriate PPE when performing client antigen tests
- All clients are regularly monitored for symptoms by nursing staff throughout their stay at Crestone Wellness
- All client clothing is washed and sanitized upon admission, and during their stay to prevent the spread of germs
- Crestone Wellness partners with a linen company that follows CDC guidelines for COVID-19: “Our laundering processes and services meet or exceed OSHA, CDC, and HLAC standards, and comply with The Joint Commission requirements. Our sanitizing wash process kills 99.999% of common pathogens. The wash is followed by a bacteria-inhibiting softener. Supplies are then wrapped in plastic for transport for a Clean You Can Count On” (ImageFIRST, 2022).
- Strict implementation of protocols for the disinfection of facility and client living environment: All hard surfaces, handles, floors, and furnishings are regularly and thoroughly disinfected using cleaning chemicals approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s List-N (EPA, 2022).
- Anti-bacterial soap and foaming hand sanitizer dispensers readily available and easily accessible throughout the facility
